Smoking Weed in Newfoundland and Labrador

Currently, licensed retailers are not able to satisfy consumers with getting products that they want. There have been occasions where signs were put up on the door due to shortage issues.

On June 14, 2019, the Federal Government announced that the required regulations to the Cannabis Act related to the legalization of edibles will come into force on October 17, 2019. However, it will take time, after that date, before new cannabis products become available for purchase. It is expected that a limited selection of products will appear gradually in physical or online stores, and no earlier than mid-December 2019.

Non-medical cannabis can only be legally purchased at stores licensed through the Newfoundland and Liquor Corporation (NLC) or online through NLC’s web portal. There are more than 20 licensed stores spread throughout the province.

The consumption of cannabis is only allowed in a private dwelling. It is prohibited in a public place, a motor vehicle or a boat, similar to the restrictions on consuming alcohol.

Why buy weed online?

Not only is the province dealing with shortage issues, edible cannabis is not available for sale until mid-December. Even then, that isn’t a guarantee. Health Canada, which regulates cannabis products, requires 60 days’ notice before making a new product available for sale. Thus, we recommend getting your products from an online delivery service such as Buy Weed. We offer a wide range of cannabis products from shatter, hash, edibles, and whatever else you might need.
